From the Principal's Desk
Spring is nearly upon us! We have been lucky to have some unseasonably warm weather for late winter. As the weather fluctuates, please remember to send your child in layers and have them check the lost and found for missing items. We also ask that students wear shoes that cover their whole foot for safety on the playground.
Thank you to all who have participated in our Read-A-Thon! It is not too late to join in and support literacy at Franke Park. The funds raised will support bringing our classrooms into the 21st Century with new furniture, flexible seating, and literacy materials. Our goal is for all students to read AT or ABOVE grade level by the time they leave us in 5th grade. Please help us by supporting reading at home.
Your child's attendance is important to us! In this post-pandemic time, it is imperative that your child attend school regularly. The district and state of Indiana have made efforts to enforce regular attendance. As a school entity, we must follow the guidelines for attendance reporting. PLEASE call your child in if they are ill and make every effort to get them to school daily. We understand that illness happens but students not called in are marked truant. Please adhere to the attendance policy.
We are working hard to build family and community connections at Franke Park Elementary. We would like to jumpstart the PTA for next year by recruiting officers and members this Spring. Ms. Arietta, our School Improvement Liaison for Title I, has done a wonderful job collaborating with teachers to create our family engagement nights. Your voice matters and we want all students represented at Franke Park. Please consider becoming a PTA officer so that we can work together to make our school even better!
Yours in Partnership,
Ms. Youngblutt
