Rainbow words: Red-Green!

Phonics: Long Vowels, sneaky "e", double vowels

Reading: Applying non-fiction and classfying/categorizing new information

Math: Number partners, number sentences + and - , review mathematic vocabulary

Writing: nearly PERFECT SENTENCES... checking cap. letters, finger spaces, endmarks!!

We have started our Zoo Animal Research Project! We have chosen THREE animals that reside at the Ft. Wayne Children's Zoo. Each child will be researching three animals that interest them. Be sure to talk with your child about what he or she has learned as we prepare for our field trip!

We launched our research study with our first grade mentors! Mrs. Melton's first graders showed us the kinds of information we could find and document for our own animal researches. They previously researched Asian and African elephants and wanted to share with us! We even saw how a 3-D printer works to create game-board pieces...pretty AMAZING!! Ask your child about the experience!
