The Class of 2037
This week, registration opened for the Class of 2037; and if the last 13 years are any indication, the world will be a very different place.
In fact, on that day in June when these students and their families commemorate the 113th graduating class of Tenafly High School, we may all be regularly receiving Amazon and supermarket deliveries from drones, driving electric cars that start in the cold 😉, or using VR headsets to attend school on a snow day (Yes!).
But what else might be happening? How about:
- A world population that passes 9 billion?
- Robots representing 80% of the workforce at McDonalds?
- Greenhouse gas emissions on the decline but sea levels significantly higher?
- Supernova requiem (Google it)?
- Organ replacement surgeries no longer requiring donors thanks to AI generated organs?
- E-sport scholarships and viewership surpassing most college sports?
- NJ’s last regular movie theater closes 🙁and two new drive-in movie theaters open? 😀
- The 50th Presidency being the second female POTUS?
- It costing $30 to cross the GWB? 😱
Well, either way, here’s to welcoming the Class of 2037!
Yours in Education,
Michael Ben-David J.D./M.Ed.

THS Winter Concert - Times Two
Tenafly High School hosted its annual winter concert on January 18th, and then treated the 8th grade Band, Chorus and Orchestra students (about 150 in total!) to a repeat performance the next day. They looked a bit more casual - but sounded just as awesome! Congrats to all of the performers and instructors!
Winners - No Debate About it!
Last week, our THS debate team clinched First Place at the Bergen County Debate League, Emerson Tournament. Congratulations to the entire team and to Mrs. Melissa Diaz, for guiding them to success!
Speaking of success - the good news keeps on coming for THS senior, Cindy Pyo. In the fall, she became a published co-author on molecular biology. Last week, she learned that she was among the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2024, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors (see the full press release HERE). And now, she's the focus of a feature story in this month's Tenafly Magazine. Way to go, Cindy!
