Phoenix Flyer
October 11, 2021
Hello Phoenix families,
As we enter the second week of October, we are beginning our "recruiting season!" Please help us get the word out to all members of the surrounding communities that HSMC is a fabulous place for students to come for a stellar educational experience. All who are interested are welcome to call the office and come to our first informational night on October 19th.
Thank you so much for supporting the ASG fundraiser. Because of your support, ASG was able to raise over $400 to go towards students activities. I know for my part, I saw some students enjoying good food and company and was able to pick up dinner for my husband and myself to eat together while watching baseball....is there anything better?
October is bullying prevention month. HSMC is proud that our core values promote acceptance and tolerance for all students that creates a safe space for all members of our community to express our individual strengths. For more information, please click here
Last week, our school was treated to a visit from the Moorpark College's EATMs program. They brought many exotic and not so exotic animals to visit and show off. Students and staff alike enjoyed an informative and enjoyable visit from the zoo.
This week, our 11th graders are taking the PSAT test. This is a great opportunity for our students to gain some test experience and, if they qualify, earn the honor of being a National Merit Scholar.
Don't forget our Prom Teacher Challenge taking place now through December 5th. So far, the "pie in the face" seems to have the most money in its pot.....we hope it is a tasty pie!
The Ventura County Community College District put off the vaccine requirement until second semester. However, if your child is not vaccinated, they must test negative for COVID twice per week in order to come onto campus. All students who we have on record as not being vaccinated will receive an email from the office.
