We're All WONDERS
Second Graders SEE beauty in others!
"I know I can't change the way I look. But maybe, just maybe, people can change the way they SEE." From the book, We're All Wonders.
Mrs. Berman's class read and discussed these words. They decided to eliminate words such as weird, creepy, and disgusting from their vocabulary, and replace them with terms such as unique, special, and different. They then made glasses to help "see" the human in every person.
The WONDER of Kindness
KINDNESS That is what Mrs. Fisher/Mrs. Romano's class has been WONDERING about. What does kindness mean, how do we show kindness, how do we know when we are being kind? After creating their own Wonder Elf, students wrote about how they can give the gift of kindness this holiday season. Their responses warmed the hearts of every reader!
The TOP-SECRET KINDNESS CHALLENGE!
Our fourth grade students have accepted a Top-Secret Kindness Challenge. Each week they receive a Top-Secret Kindness Mission. They will track the progress of their mission daily in their Kindness Journals....using secret codes of course! Morning meetings will be used to consider mission strategies and to plot progress!
Best of luck to all challenge participants!

SAFETY FIRST
Pine Run Hall and Bus Safeties serve an important role in our school. Under the direction of Mrs. McManus, Mrs. Treude, and Mrs. Kozlik, safeties support our smooth dismissal process, help students during their rides to and from school, and demonstrate leadership as they assist their fellow classmates.
Many thanks to our Pine Run Safeties for all they do!
The Power of "YOU" Statements!!!
"YOU" STATEMENTS
By using YOU Statements, adults can help children increase their internal confidence and self-appreciation.
The use of YOU statements is a great way to promote self-reflection, self-analysis, and one's ability to find satisfaction in your own work.
Here's how it works:
When children request your feedback, approval, opinion, and/or advice, consider asking or offering a YOU statement to emphasis the importance of their personal perspectives.
Examples include:
"What do YOU think about it?"
"YOU must have felt so proud!"
"How do YOU want to respond?"
"I'm happy YOU chose to take the lead."
