JMMS SOLAR SPRINT - TOP 6 IN THE NATION!
Last year JMMS sent a team of engineering/robotics students to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the Jr. Solar Sprint. At the end of the competition, our students placed 14th in the racing part of the event.
Well, overall scores were finally posted and it turns out that our scores for display, notebook, car design put our students in 6th place. There was an error in the judges' scoring and the scores were reassessed.
Congratulations to our JMMS students for placing in the top 6 in the nation in the Jr. Solar Sprint!
ZERO THE HERO FLIES INTO CREEKSIDE
Zero the Hero made a special appearance at Creekside to help our Kindergarteners celebrate the 100th day of school. Students each brought 100 items to count and use in lessons throughout the day. As always, it was an amazing time for Zero the Hero to learn alongside our students.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JANELL NASH, PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Our very own Janell Nash has been selected as our East County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Service Award recipient. This prestigious award is given to individuals who have been nominated by school district representatives and selected by a SELPA-wide review committee.
Janell's achievement will be celebrated at the CAC Awards Dinner on March 11, 2019, at 6:00 pm at the La Mesa Community Center. We are very proud of Janell!

FARMER'S MARKET @ BOES
Special thanks goes out to Bob Ring and Barons Market for once again sponsoring the Farmer's Market at Boulder Oaks. BOES and Barons both support good eating habits and use this opportunity to share in the knowledge of healthy eating through fruits and vegetables. Students also learned the value of a dollar as they used money allotted to them to purchase items at different costs. Barons Farmer's Market are always fabulous events!
5TH GRADERS VISIT JMMS
On Thursday, 5th graders from AES, BOES, and SHES came to tour the campus of JMMS. 5th graders were greeted by JMMS students and entered through a Dustdevil tunnel! Some of the highlights of the day were the slushies and running on the track.
