What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
Last week we launched our Holiday Spirit Week! We enjoyed Luce/Canton Spirit wear day and Ugly Sweater day. This week is the last week before our winter break, and it is a fun-filled week. We will have our Holiday Sing-A-long, and we will close out the week with the remainder of our Holiday Spirit week activities. Please see the flyer attached below for the schedule.
Please remember that Thursday, December 23 is an early release day. School hours are from 9:10-12:20 pm. Please make arrangements for pick up on that day.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if your family needs anything for the holidays. We are here to help. This will be the last Smore for the calendar year. The Smore bulletins will resume on Sunday, January 2.
We hope you have a Happy Holiday break and we will see you on January 3rd.

This month's Tuesday Tea is canceled until January. We will resume our monthly tea on Tuesday, January 18th from 5-6 pm.

- December 23Time To Relax: Wear your cozy pajamas & sippers
Cold-Weather Gear (Gentle Reminder)

Thank you to everyone who has made this fall so great. We wish everyone wonderful, joyous, and healthy holidays!!
Nurse Bonner's Updates
Happy last week before winter break. I have loved meeting and getting to know your wonderful children the last 3 months and can't wait to see them after the break. Along with a focus on social and emotional learning, self esteem plays a critical role in children's development, and I wanted to pass along some information on helping them develop a healthy sense of self esteem.
As we enter into the holiday season here are some thoughts on gathering with young children who may not be vaccinated against COVID-19 yet. Holiday Gatherings During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
District Update(s)
District Family Survey
Dear Canton Families,
Good afternoon. We have received nearly 600 responses from the Family Survey that we sent out last week. That number and the feedback associated with each entry have been outstanding and incredibly valuable.
We would love to hear from an even larger number of you! Our goal is to achieve at least 1,000 responses from our school community.
As such, I am extending the deadline to complete the survey until Monday, December 20 at 4 p.m. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your child's experience in the Canton Public Schools.
Here is the link for the survey:

Substitutes Needed (Repost)
Do you have a college-age child coming home for winter break? If so, would they be interested in subbing for the Canton Public Schools while they are here? Subbing is a great way to keep busy, make money and get real-world work experience. In Canton, we have had great success bringing our own, former students back to help support our students and schools during this busy time year. If your child is interested, please have them fill out this sub application packet and email it to Kim Eardley (eardleyk@cantonma.org) to get the process started. If they fill it out before they get home, the process can begin asap!
Students in their first year of college are able to sub at the elementary and preschool levels only.
Students in their second year or beyond can sub at all school levels.
