Sports and entertainment
Sports and entertainment is a Greek contribution. The Greeks created the olympics. The Greeks held the olympics for their God, Zeus.Their olympics had sports such as foot race, long jump, wrestling, and javelin. Today in the summer olympics we have sports such as swimming, basketball, running, and archery. In the winter we have sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating.
Development of Aquaducts
Aquaducts were created by Romans. Aquaducts were used to bring water to a town or city. Aquaducts are now used as a plumbing system. Today Aquaducts helped create toilets and baths. Plumbing systems still bring water to cities today.
Development of Concrete Roads
Romans created concrete roads. They built 250,000 miles of roads. Today roads are not made of heavy concrete blocks. Only the sidewalks are made out of heavy concrete blocks. The roads are made of black asphalt. Today there are 3,980,817 miles of roads.
Spread of Christianity
Christianity was spread by the Romans. The Romans changed their main religion to Christianity in 400 AD. Today Christianity is a main religion in the entire world. Christians used to be killed by rulers. Today they are not. Christians are still killed by bad people like Isis. Christians have gone through a lot through eternity.
Theater and Drama
Greeks created theater. They preformed dramas, comedies, and trajedies. Only men could preform in them. Now all people can preform in the theater. Today we preform plays. Movies are also another form of theater. In Greece the shows were performed in outdoor amphitheaters. There is an outdoor amphitheater called Meriweather 15 minutes away from me.
