Important Notice - Catholic Identity Surveys

Parents, we ask that you take the following two surveys and submit your answers no later than October 3, 2014. Responses are anonymous and honest opinions are appreciated. After School Care

If you plan to use After School Care on a particular day as a drop in, please call the office to inform us, so we are aware they are staying at school and can make proper arrangements.

  • This week, Pre-K red class learned about the letter Dd. We played outside and read some books with Mrs. Pearce about Fall! We also learned about families and how God created a family to love and help us.

  • We learned the shapes oval and diamond.

  • We are really looking forward to our field trip to Slow Poke Farm on Monday!

First Grade

  • First Grade has been learning to sound out short i words this week in reading.
  • In science we have been learning about our 5 senses and living and non-living things.
  • We even compared and contrasted our classroom pet frog with a rock.
  • On Fridays we read with 4th grade buddies to help us with AR.

Second Grade

  • The 2nd Grade Class will be reviewing their Reading Skills and Vocabulary Terms from the first Unit in our reading series.
  • We will also be taking our first Math test over adding and subtraction to 20.
  • In Religion we will be continue talking about the Holy Trinity and how God is Our Father.
  • In Science we are still discussing Plants and will be starting an experiment involving avocado roots.

Fourth Grade Happenings

In fourth grade we are studying Kentucky history. Students have learned all the states that border Kentucky and know all seven different regions. Do you know what region Louisville is located in? The Bluegrass region!! Next week we will be learning about Kentucky's Natural Resources.

  • This week the sixth graders began using their Chromebook laptops everyday in their classes. Everyone seems very happy with these new machines. The Chromebooks are very fast and the operating system is always up to date - nothing to download!
  • When they are ready to do so, the students will be allowed to take them home for school and homework assignments. See the 1:1 Laptop Policy Agreement on the school website.
