Seekonk High Library News

Quiet Library? Not Us!

Issue 1 - Dec. 2013

This is the first issue of a new monthly newsletter by the SHS Library for the staff and faculty of Seekonk High. There always lots of stuff going on here, and we know that it can be hard to stop in, so we'll bring the library to you!

Featured news will include new resources like books and videos, interesting projects that are happening here and anything else we can think of that will help teachers and students.

Please let Suzanne know if there is something that you'd like to see here....and thanks for reading!

What YOU Said About Parent Conferences

The scheduling system was a hit, with more than 90% of surveyed teachers giving it a thumbs-up for next year!

The image below was generated by plugging your survey comments into Tagxedo, a free online tool that turns words into a word cloud.
It's a great way to analyze text in the classroom with visual learners, because the words that occur frequently within the body of text get bigger. Enjoy!

DEAR Week, Dec. 2-6!

Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Week is December 2-6. Bring a book and start each day by reading for the first 10 minutes of first period.

Don’t forget - every student and teacher who reads during the first 10 minutes of the day during DEAR Week will be eligible to complete an entry form for a raffle to win a $5 Dunkin' Donuts Gift card. Entry cards are in the main office - help yourself!

Every reader has up to 5 chances to enter and one student winner and one staff winner will be announced on Friday!
