Study Tips to Prepare for Finals
- Eat Breakfast: Eating breakfast, especially cereals rich with complex carbohydrates, helps boost your concentration and memory over the course of the morning.
- Turn off your music: Studies have shown that people who study listening to music recall less than those who study in a quiet environment.
- Space out Study Sessions: reviewing old assignments and studying in small chunks over time have been shown to help with brain with memory recall.
- Put Your Phone Away: a recent study revealed “the mere presence of a cell phone may be sufficiently distracting to produce diminished attention and deficits in task-performance.”
- Drink Water Regularly: Drinking water regularly boosts concentration and memory.
- Get Fresh Air: taking a break outside in fresh air can help you concentrate on long, boring tasks.
- Exercise: Regular exercise boosts your attitude and ability to deal with stress.
- Have a Regular Bed Time: Getting at least 8 hours of sleep and creating a sleep routine boosts your cognitive development.
