If you have more than one student that attends Woods Creek, you can attend one classroom for the first session and the other classroom for the second session. Please do whatever works for YOU!

ELA

Since the start of school, we have worked on many skills. We have reviewed our PBIS school wide rules by learning how to, "BE RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPECTFUL, AND BE SAFE!" Woods Creek will continue to focus on various areas in the school and "reteach" these important lessons on "Teachable Tuesdays." It's a way to keep our rules fresh and hold us all accountable. Last week, we reviewed the Arrival and Dismissal expectations.


In addition, we also spent time learning about what it means to have a Growth Mindset. We have been reading several wonderful books and making connections to our own lives about why it is important to reach for your goals and never give up!


Finally, the past few weeks we spent time getting to know one another. We played various "Get to Know Me" games and had a blast learning about one another.

Math

In math, we have been learning all about math mountains! We learned how to use math mountains to add and subtract "fact families" and write equations. In upcoming weeks, we will continue to use math mountains to practice solving and writing addition and subtraction equations.

Other Odds and Ends

Fall Fundraiser

We have kicked off our fall fundraiser. Each student brought home a fundraiser envelope. Please help support our school by purchasing a few items. This fundraiser provides funding for equipment, books, and many other Woods Creek supplies.


Homeroom App

Many parents have joined our "Homeroom" group on the Homeroom App and have been able to see all the wonderful things our team has already done! If you missed the email invitation, please let your child's teacher know and she'd be happy to send it to you again. Hopefully you're enjoying the snapshot into our classrooms!
