What is Oral Cancer?

Oral Cancer is a cancer that includes cancer of the lips, tongues, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses and the throat it can be life threatening.

What are the symptoms

  • Swelling/thickening
  • Crust
  • Bleeding in the mouth
  • Numbness/Pain
  • Feeling something on your throught and soreness

How can you get oral cancer (Risk factors)

  • Smoking
  • Smokeless tabacco
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Family history of cancer

How can you prevent oral cancer

  • Stop using tobacco or don't do it at all using tobacco either chewed or smoked exposes cells in your mouth to cancer causing products.
  • Drink alcohol only in moderation, excessive alcohol use can irritate the cells in your mouth
  • Avoid excessive sun exposures to your lips
