Spiritual Nugget

Compassion is not just a feeling, it is an action, a burning desire to help someone who is less fortunate or in need. Compassion is not being judgmental and its not for personal gain. Its not only helping those you already know, but its reaching out to a stranger by coming out of your comfort zone and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you. Compassion is looking at others through the eyes of Christ, and not through the eyes of our flesh; that comes from a relationship with Christ and The Word through studying, fasting and praying.

In Case You Missed It...

This Sunday, during TOK, Apostle Daniels gave a word about allowing The Word to work in your life. Study and meditate on a scripture that applies to an area in your life that you are either lacking or struggling in.

For example, if you lack joy, then meditate on Nehemiah 8:10 "Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Continue to meditate on the scripture daily until you see it manifest in your life.

Healthy Meal Options

In lieu of eating healthier this year, there are some healthy meal options that are still fulfilling, but better for you! This week's healthy meal option is brought to you by Pastor Daniels.

Homemade Spaghetti:

Use:

  • Spaghetti Squash instead of Noodles- you can find this in any produce isle at your local grocery store. Cut the Spaghetti Squash in half and coat with olive oil. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Once its complete use a fork to separate the squash and then you have your noodles.

  • Ground Turkey instead of Beef

  • Organic Spaghetti Sauce instead of products such as Ragu or Prego

or

  • Make your own sauce! Using organic tomato paste and sauce, fresh tomatoes, and spices such as Italian Seasoning, basil, fennel, garlic powder and cloves, and salt to taste to your liking.
