EARLY YEARS MASH MEET

Mini Mash is an interactive virtual classroom that allows children in Nursery and Reception to explore, learn and create in a safe online space. In each of the seven learning areas you’ll find a wide range of tools and content mapped around the EYFS framework. It also comes complete with 25+ themed topic packs covering all of your Early Years favourites.
We’ll give you a tour of the different tools and content available in Mini Mash and there will be time to ask questions and discuss lesson ideas. Our Mash Meets offer a relaxed environment where teachers can learn, explore and share best practice while enjoying a cup of tea with some biscuits.
This Mash Meet will show you how to:
- Use Mini Mash tools and resources in EYFS
- Create your own resources
- Add topic resources to the home page
- Save work without logging in
- Engage parents with Home Access

How does the Internet work?

Code Club builds a community of volunteers who share their passion for digital making with children and teachers across the UK.
They offer training and resources for primary school teachers of the new computing curriculum and we are delighted to announce that they will be hosing one of their very popular CPD events in South Tyneside.This session explores networks and the internet. We look at the Web in more detail, including how to code using HTML, and how search engines work. Have a look at the video below to find out a bit more.
Safeguarding Conference

Following our last highly successful conference on E Safety, we are pleased to be bringing you another thought-provoking, informative and highly topical conference in 2016.
Themes covered on the day will include:
- Child sexual exploitation
- Cyberbullying
- Cyber security
- and much more
Expect to hear keynotes from experts in their field and get hands on in learning new ways of approaching safeguarding in the classroom.

Computing Subject Leaders Network Meeting

A chance for Co-ordinators to keep up to date with new technology and what is going on in the Local Authority. There is always an opportunity to ask questions and chat with colleagues. This is also an opportunity to have a look round our new base and facilities at The Word.
