The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson is a wonderful story about diversity and sharing our stories with those around us. This story is a great way to set the tone for a school year, a reminder that we are all different!

The Magical Yet by Angela DiTerlizzi is a lovely story that calls to mind how each of us have started something that we don't know how to do just yet. As we practice, we get better, even if the thing we are practicing seemed really hard when started! The word "Yet" is a powerful and magical word and this story is a wonderful reminder of how empowering a growth mindset can be.
