Some genetic disorders are due to random gene mutations or mutations caused by environmental factors. Others are inherited also known as passed down from one generation to another.

This disease affects the cells of the brain called the sheath, the material that protects nerve cells. Damage to it can cause messages to be stopped or blocked.
