Texas Wild Child
Our sedentary lifestyles create a Nature-Deficit in our children. The movement towards more indoor activity has been growing and COVID-19 did not help. According to Texan by Nature, children ages 8-18 accrue an average of over 50 hours of screen time per week. Wow! Join us as we explore resources and activities to connect children to nature. This is great for Science and Social Studies teachers...great connections! Let's find our Texas Wild Child! Suggested for Grades PreK - 8th grade. Session ID# 75899 or Session ID# 75900

STAAR: Instruction & Assessment to Foster Effective Learning (High School Gr. 9-11)
Everyone knows how the C-I-A (Curriculum-Instruction-Assessment) triangle works but how often do we truly see and plan for that alignment. The Texas Education Agency is rolling out assessment types that require worked examples to reduce the learner's cognitive load and support critical thinking. Join us as we use these examples to design instructional alignment to how students will be assessed. This session is created due to HB 3906 in preparation for implementation in the 2022-2023 school year. Session ID# 75891
Where is Ms. Ana?
Heard of Where’s Waldo or Flat Stanley? Well, you could be them in a sense. Let’s put those social studies skills to the test! Join us for this webinar where we’ll use our skills; obtaining information by various means, categorizing, expressing ideas, interpreting visuals, gathering information, and making a decision in this geography lesson. Join me in this virtual session and let’s have some fun testing your skills! Session ID# 77022
STAAR Assessing Our Civic Knowledge
House Bill 1244 requires that the U.S. History EOC include 10 randomly selected questions from the Civics test that is part of our Naturalization process. This impacts U.S. History EOC students who were 9th graders in 2019-2020 which means that they and those who follow will begin being tested on those Civics questions on the 2021-2022 STAAR exam. Join us as we review the civics questions and derive a process for determining their selection. Session ID# 75896 or Session ID# 75894
A Picture's Worth A Thousand Words!
Historical Figures
There are many opportunities where people get their 15 minutes of fame. Many people think about becoming famous, just think about the Guinness Book of Records! How does that happen? Join me as we learn why our historical figures became famous and how we can deepen our instruction of them. (Grades 4 - 11). Session ID# 75948 or #77024
