Curriculum and Instruction
MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in K–12 math, reading, language usage, and science. It provides teachers with accurate, and actionable evidence to help target instruction for each student or groups of students regardless of how far above or below they are from their grade level. It also connects to the largest set of instructional content providers, giving educators flexibility in curriculum choices.

Special Education
Support for Families During COVID-19
Many parents are feeling the pressures of juggling multiple roles during this pandemic due to the added demands of distance learning. This is particularly true for parents of students that have academic and/or behavioral challenges. There is support! Byron's final Parent Academy will be held on September 29 from 6-7:30 pm, focusing on "Increasing Cooperation through Choice". The Zoom meeting ID is 819 9207 8077 and the password is Academy. Castro Valley Adult and Career Education is also holding a series for parents, exploring evidence-based practices and tools supporting positive parenting, Thursday evening from 5-6:15 pm. Register at www.cvadult.org. Finally, afternoon homework help groups are available for special education students, from 1:00 to 3:30 daily. Please contact your child's case manager if you need assistance accessing this additional support.
