We are down to the last four weeks of school and they are going to be very busy! This is the place to get all the information you need to be ready for all the wonderful things happening on our campus!
We have completed our first week of SBAC Math testing, next week will be Science testing for 8th grade only. Please see below for more details, but please remember to bring your charger for your device, as well as headphones that can plug-in to your computer! Make sure to eat breakfast and get a good night's sleep!
- Friday, May 20th is a minimum day, with dismissal at 12:05 PM.
- 8th grade families--Digital Student Led Conferences are next Friday, May 20th! Please pay special attention to the information on these conferences below. Sign-ups are currently happening, please make sure to sign up today!
- In conjunction with the DSLC Conferences on 5/20, all students (both 7th & 8th) will participate in Career Day! This is a great opportunity for our students to hear from a variety of people from our community, and learn more about what it takes to be eligible for those jobs. We can't wait!
- 8th Grade Parents: Hard copies of important information about PROMOTION should have come home this week. Please watch for it so that you don't miss out! If you would like this information in digital form, here is the Promotion Letter and the Promotion Party Permission Slip.
- 5/18 is Decathlon Day! See below for details about Decathlon!
- As we get closer to the last day of school, please remind your students about making good choices and being respectful of each other! We want to end the year on a positive! Thanks for your help!
- Please note that students are expected to follow the dress codes and keep phones at home. Wearing an ID card is part of the uniform! Violations of these expectations will result in consequences. Please see guidelines here if you are still unsure.

Santiago Art Night!
We are excited for the opportunity for our art students to be able to share their work with the community! Anyone is invited to join us...
In conjunction with our awards ceremony on June 1st, the doors for Art Night will be open in the cafeteria beginning at 5:00 PM, and will remain open until about 30 minutes following the conclusion of the awards program.
We hope you will join us in honoring the hard work our our blossoming artists!
Santiago's 29th Annual Decathlon! (5/18)
Athlete participants will be announced at a short assembly at the end of the day on 5/17, will compete all day on 5/18, and the winners will be announced at a short assembly at the end of the day on 5/19.
Congratulations to our Decathlon students!
SBAC TESTING
- Week of May 16-20: Science Test for 8th grade students ONLY taken in Science classes.
- Week of May 23-27: Make-Up Testing
All students should remember how important it is to eat a healthy breakfast each day! This gives you the proper energy you need to stay focused and feel successful.
Please remember to bring your charger for your school device so that your battery does not die during the day.
Please remember to bring headphones that PLUG-IN to your device. Wireless headphones won't properly work during SBAC testing.

SANTANAFEST 2022 is coming soon!

Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5-8 at Santiago.
Permission slips have gone home and need to be returned by
Friday, May 20th.

SANTIAGO WINS FIRST EVER CHARTER SCHOOL BASKETBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!
The newly formed Charter School Basketball League held their first championship games last week and both the Santiago girls team and the Santiago boys team were victorious! It was such a big event, ABC 7 News was there! Click on the link below to watch the news segment. Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches!

Summer School Health Sessions for Incoming Freshman will be 2 weeks in duration.
The dates for the sessions are:
- June 13-June 23
- June 27-July 8
- July 11-July 21
Class is held Monday-Thursday from 8 am-12 pm. Students will be assigned a date to report to the class.
Students will be required to attend at least twice, once a week depending on progress made. There is the option to attend daily.

LAST CHANCE FOR YEARBOOKS!
8th Grade Families-- Digital Student Led Conferences (DSLC) Are Coming Up!
Please mark your calendar for the morning of May 20th! You and your 8th grade student will be participating in a student-led conference here at Santiago. We are so looking forward to this opportunity to encourage this unique conversation between parent and student, as well as get parents back on campus!
On Monday, 4/11, your student received a hard copy letter explaining DSLC, but you can also access that letter here. Please read the letter thoroughly, and sign up ASAP using the QR code or link attached on the letter. Times are first come-first serve.
Once you have signed up for times, you will receive a follow up email confirming your appointment time from your 8th grade student's first period teacher.

If you have a current 7th grade student that attends Santiago under open enrollment, you will need to re-enroll them again for the 22-23 school year.
