Giving Tree
Glenhope’s Giving Tree for GRACE is set up in the main hallway! If you would like to help a family in need, please choose an ornament from the tree, and return the unwrapped item by Wednesday, December 16th.
Spelling Bee Pre Test
The pre-test for our school Spelling Bee will be held on December 15. Any child who receives a qualifying score may participate in the Glenhope Spelling Bee. This will be held on January 22. All third grade ASPIRE students will participate in the pretest. The pretest is a written test.
Hour of Code
This week, all 3rd grade students participated in the nationwide "Hour of Code." Computer science is an emerging career field with too many positions open and not enough people to fill them! Computer coding helps students understand the language that makes computers works as well as requires them to problem solve and think outside of the box! Ask your students to show you on their iPads what they've been doing this week with Hour of Code!
The Power of YET
Carol Dweck, who writes about Growth Mindset, discusses the power of YET in the video below. This video discusses the importance of believing that you can improve, that you can grow. With this belief, they take on challenges with excitement rather than anxiousness.
Enjoy! :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Thank you to Shawna Voss for donating a Christmas tree to our class and to Hyatt Hodges for donating the beautiful decorations. The kids love the bird! They want to pet it.
