Pathfinder Elementary - April 1, 2017
School Mission and Motto
Thank you to everyone who helped create our school mission statement and motto. After gathering input from all of our stakeholders (students, staff, and parents), the staff on our Student Learning Team analyzed the results and we are excited to share our mission and motto with you!
Our work entailed creating a frequency chart from all stakeholders that highlighted key words that represent Pathfinder and what we want for our school and our students. Our motto will be recited each day and will be our mantra as a school. The motto, along with our school mission statement, were unveiled at our 3rd quarter assembly. Thank you for your input! We are excited to learn and live our motto and mission statements!
Students in 3rd and 4th grades will be participating in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). The schedule for MAP can be found below. Along with students participating in the MAP, all of our students will be involved in end of year district-wide assessments beginning April 17th. It is critical that your child is at school and on time every day of testing. We appreciate your help with this. Our staff and students are prepped and ready to ROCK the assessments!
1st Annual Sharpen the Saw Challenge
On May 5th, Pathfinder will be starting its 1st annual "Sharpen the Saw" challenge course at Barry-Platte Park. The course will consist of 12 challenging and fun obstacles. This event will be open to 2nd grade - 4th grade students and their families. Our goal for this event is to promote healthy life skills in a fun way.
The price of this event is $10 per person, turned into the front office at Pathfinder Elementary. Registration will increase to $13 per person on the day of event. Included in the price is a t-shirt, dog tag, and entry to the event.
The start time will be a 5:00 p.m. and will go to 7:00 p.m. Families can show up at any time to complete the course. The course can take 30-45 minutes, but we encourage everyone to take their time and have fun! There will be food and beverages provided at the completion of the course. Changes in the Lunchroom
Students and staff are also setting a goal for how many days we can go without being moved to a "Level 0" voice level. Students are continuing to receive pirate coins for displaying positive behaviors and we have already met our goal as a school to receive 1,000 pirate coins. As a result we enjoyed a Kidz Bop music lunch this past Wednesday!
