NEWS and NOTES
We are NINETEEN (19) days until our students in Grades 3-6 begin ISTEP...19 DAYS! This is GO time and we need to be laser-like in our planning of instruction to meet the needs of our students. The standards are tough, the assessments challenging...so how are you planning for your students success? How are you deconstructing the standards? How are your releasing this to your students? We are all in this together and ready to support. Coaches are available for support in planning instruction...and I expect to see continued growth in the planning and implementation of instruction daily.
Our IDOE Monitoring Visit is on Wednesday. The Leadership Team will meet with Ms. Freeman (IDOE Outreach Coordinator) first, then Ms. Freeman will be completing classroom walkthroughs from 9:15 to 10:45. I know we have put in a lot of hard work this year.....let's show her how we are SOARing to Excellence academically!!!!
Retention lists are due to me by this coming Friday. You must have data and an intervention history to support your recommendation for retention. Please meet with your respective grade levels and have a list to me by Thursday, February 4th.
THANK YOU to those that came out for Hot Cocoa and a Book night!! Ms. Pena, Ms. Crotty, Ms. Koch, Ms. Sweet, Ms. Ryan, Ms. Gutierrez, Ms. Griffin, Ms. Barnes, and Mr. Williams donated their time to read stories and make hot cocoa for students and parents....I know they loved it!!!
THANK YOU for your flexibility this week as we had staff out. You show me the power of your dedication by taking on additional responsibilities to pick up for our teammates that are out. Thanks Ms. Fosnow, Mr. Williams, Ms. Pena, Ms. McLaughlin, Ms. Swim, Ms. Crotty, Mr. Tillman, Ms. Smith, Ms. Hester, Ms. Sedam, Ms. Stackhouse, and Ms. Allen.
If you have not picked up your iPad's....please see me or Ms. Stackhouse. We are going to order headphones for them so you can use them as a listening station during guided reading.
More Cardinal Cash is in....please see Ms. Fosnow if you need any more. Also...if you have any ideas for items for the Cardinal Cash Store or better ways for students to access the store, please let us know. Thanks Ms. Fosnow for taking it on and making it happen!
