Partee ES Parent Newsletter - Special Edition #2

Principal's Message

Dear Partee Families,

As many of you are aware, the Governor has issued an executive order closing all public schools in Georgia, beginning Wednesday, March 18 through Tuesday, March 31. In Gwinnett County Public Schools, we will continue digital learning days through next week, at which time our district’s spring break will begin (March 30-April 3). The district will provide information regarding school operations before April 6, when we are scheduled to return from spring break.

We will continue providing meals for children 18 years old and younger at the 68 school sites and at select bus stops from 11:00 - 1:00. If you pick up meals from Partee ES, please drive through the bus lane and remain in your car. A cafeteria staff member will bring the meals to you. If you are picking up meals from the bus stop, please know that the delivery times may vary.

Teachers will continue to provide meaningful DLD lessons while keeping in mind the technology restrictions some families may have. Teachers are also available to answer questions through Class Dojo and email. As a reminder, please let your child’s teacher know if you need a hard copy of the assignments because of limited access to digital devices. We can make arrangements for you to pick up the assignments during the week.

All other activities connected to school have been canceled through March 27. This includes Literacy Night, Perennial Math Competition, and Field Trips. Refunds will be issued once we return to full operation.

The school will not be open to the public next week, except to give out lunches. However, your child's teacher and the grade level administrators are actively monitoring eCLASS pages and emails throughout the day should you have questions or need support.

Please continue to visit the Gwinnett County Public Schools website for the most up to date information.

Thank you for your support, flexibility and understanding during this difficult time our country is facing. We are Generals....we persevere through challenges and come out stronger on the other side.

Generals Salute!

Additional Updates

IEP/SST/RE-Evaluation meetings - You will be contacted by your child's teacher or a school representative regarding any meetings that were scheduled next week.

DA Testing - All DA testing has been suspended until we return to school. We will communicate information regarding a plan once we return to full operation.

Progress Reports - Progress reports are scheduled to go home on March 27. We will not be sending home progress reports next week.

GMAS/GAA - The Georgia School Superintendent has canceled the upcoming Georgia Milestones Tests and Georgia Alternative Assessments until further notice. Additional guidance on any assessments will be provided once we return to full operation.

eClass Speed/Access - There are many school districts across the country that use the same platform as GCPS for students to access digital content. With so many students on the platform, you may experience slower than normal speeds. Please be patient!
