KUDOS
Kudos to Ms. Bradford! She is in our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA PLCs every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. She guides and motivates us to put out our best work for our students. She is looking out for the SpEd department; she most recently brainstormed a way to streamline work for us that would have been very time consuming. Ms. Bradford - you are greatly appreciated!
- Karen Stringer
Kudos to all of the math department for going FAR above and beyond as they make the lessons comprensible for our students. Your encouragement and positive feedback is evident in the high number of students who are engaging in the lessons.
YOU are the BEST!!
- Dianne Shaver
A big special shoutout to Coach Williams! Along with making that funny video for the kids, he continues to try to come up with ideas to keep the kids entertained. He goes out of his way to make life easier for us. He even got my family groceries! He’s a great coworker but an even better friend.
- Mpumie Masuku
Kudos to our coaches for creating such a fun way to stay connected with students. Your video was hilarious! It's what WE needed... and what I'm sure the kids will appreciate.
Shout out to Ryan Smosna who has been handling technology like a champ!
Special thanks to our office staff and support staff who contacted our families this week. This is a team effort and we appreciate your work!
To our entire staff, these times can be challenging and overwhelming. I am grateful for everyone coming together to do what needs to be done to support our students and families. Your flexibility, dedication, and can-do attitude help everyone moving in the right direction.

Shoutout to Mariah Faust who is on the district theatre curriculum writing team for distance learning. Her lessons are brilliant and even things we want to attempt in the classroom next year. My students are LOVING what she is creating. She's the real deal y'all!
Shoutout to Hanna Schulz for being the most steadfast and thoughtful friend.
Shoutout to Mr. Teal who is working his master schedule magic right now and keeping us all laughing.
Shoutout to Kimberly Zielnicki for her joy and for 2 years of being work twins!

Thank you to Hanna Schulz for being the compassionate, caring, creative partner that everyone needs--whether we're quaranteaching or not! It's been a blessing to work with you all year.
Eusebia Vasquez, you rock! Your humor and insight and hard work makes everything better for the students and for us!
We appreciate Dr. Ephlin for leading our whole Hernandez community, but also for helming Social Studies and advocating for us and our students.
To Eloisa Aguilera, Marbel Donosso, Daisy Medina, and everyone else making those essential phone calls home to our students and families, and then communicating back to all of us. You're sharing their realities and their voices with us, and I hope we in turn can do better to get them the help and support they need. THANK YOU!

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Currently reading: The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
The beginning part of the description is very fitting for the time we're living in (any similarities to real life is purely coincidental): "Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her days drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times.... and spying on her neighbors."
