The East Jackson Elementary School Media Center was established in 2003 and is part of the Jackson County School District. The media center serves as the hub of the instructional program and helps to support literacy and technology skills for the school’s 485 students in grades Pre-K through 5th and 75 faculty and staff members. The center is open to students, staff, and community members every day of the school year from 7:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

Media Center Activities

The media center has a flexible schedule where students and staff are welcome to use the space for a variety of activities. Students visit the media center in small groups to participate in the many different learning centers available daily. Teachers collaborate with the media resource specialist to teach lessons and have students create technology projects. Students and staff participate in self check-out and are welcome to come any time of the school day to check-out their own books.
