Trade Credit and Online Course Information:

Trade Credit Information

  • All LISD staff must earn trade credit over the course of the year from May 22 - March 31.
  • The trade credit hours are in exchange for paid professional learning days that staff have off based on contract dates (August 2, November 22, and 23).
  • All LISD staff must complete 12 hours of learning outside of contract hours by March 31, 2022.
  • Instructional professional staff must acquire a total of 18 hour (6 hours prior to August 2, 12 hours prior to March 31, 2022).

Course Information

  • Courses must be completed outside of contract hours to earn trade credit.
  • For all book studies, you must read the book and complete all online activities.
  • Partial credit is not awarded for online courses.
  • Courses cannot be taken more than once for trade credit.
  • Learning must be completed by the end of the day on March 31, 2022 to count for trade credit.

All Level: Digital Learning Course Collection

Flexible Credit - Earn various credits based on courses completed inside the Digital Learning Course Collection

This course contains a collection of individual topics worth various credit hours ranging from 1 credit to 4 credits. Staff may take as many courses and earn credit as they would like. The digital learning department will continue to add courses to the Course Collection throughout the fall and spring. It will remain open from June 14th - March 26th, so that learning opportunities are available throughout the 2021-22 school year. The courses listed below will open on June 14th and you must join the Canvas course where all learning is housed.

World Languages Honors Part 1: Sharpening the Vision (6-12)

In the fall of 2021, LISD will implement the Honors program to replace the "PreAP" program in the core content areas. This course provides teachers an overview of the foundation, purpose, and program design for the LISD Honors experience. If you missed the window for August Trade over the summer, but you still want to take the course to know the information and/or gain November Trade Credit, this course will remain available throughout the school year. You may only complete this course one time for trade credit.
