The Little Viking Newsletter

April/May 2019

As the world turns around to spring, we are faced with new and challenging events in our state, in our country, and in the world. Whether we are talking about natural disasters or state and world affairs, it is reassuring to know that your children come to school every day to a caring and nurturing learning environment. The excellent staff members who make up our Tri-Valley Elementary learning community includes our dedicated teachers, our wonderful educational assistants, our outstanding school secretary, our helpful custodians, and our cheerful cooks. Every day we go about the business of teaching and learning. There are so many things that are happening here at TVES that help to create this caring learning environment!

These last two months of school are very important for our students’ learning. Many of the skills developed this year will be reinforced and strengthened over the last two months of school and we will be setting the foundation for next year as well. Let’s work together to help our students keep their focus on learning for the rest of the year.

We had a successful fundraiser! I have had several parents ask if they can still donate. The Unfundraiser Webstore is open again through April 10th. The money raised will all go back to the teachers to purchase supplies for their classroom. I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of those who volunteered to help make this fundraiser a success, especially Tonya Freihaut and Wendy Herring. Thank you!!!

Lastly, the district has been working on the full summer day care and mini camps which are offered to our Little Viking School through 3rd grade students. If you are interested in having your child attend any of these programs, please sign up right away!

Happy Spring!

Playground Updates~ Thank You!

I cannot thank everyone enough for the support you have shown to our school. Through the PTO, we are able to replace our 20+ year old playground and add an additional piece of equipment to the middle school playground. The money raised from the Walk-a-thon and School Carnival have helped to make this happen. To say the children are excited about the new playground is an understatement!

We will have a community build on June 21st and 22nd. We will be asking for volunteers to help build the playground as well as food donations for those people working. More information about the community build will come out in the next few weeks. Thank you!!!
