Fire Station update
Construction on the Fire Station continues to progress. Currently, crews are working on grade beams and underground utilities. The foundation and other areas with concrete paving are expected to take place over the next month.

A message from the Sunnyvale Fire Department
Sunnyvale is experiencing extremely dry conditions which has resulted in dry vegetation (pastures, yards, etc.), requiring attention to open burning. Open burning includes burn permits, outdoor fire pits, and disposal of ashes.
At this time, Sunnyvale Fire/Rescue Department is asking the community to limit requests for burn permits until there is an improvement in the weather conditions. Additionally, the department would like to remind you of a couple of things:
Take caution with outdoor fire pits to avoid blowing embers and refrain from leaving fire pits unattended.
When disposing of ashes, do not place them in any type of container or trash bin. Even though you may not see a flame, ashes can flare up after disposal. Instead, dispose them in an area where you can spread them out. You can also spray them down with water, if needed.
In the recent days, there has been an increase in grass/brush fires that affect us all. Please take precautions to protect yourselves, your neighbors, and the Sunnyvale community.
Upcoming: Temporary change in water disinfectant
The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will temporarily change the disinfectant in its water treatment process from March 1 through March 29, 2022. The annual, routine change is necessary to maintain the regional system and year-round water quality for the more than two million customers.
A reminder of this change will be posted at the end of February.
FAQs and tips to reduce the chlorine taste/odor of your water will be posted throughout the month of March.
