Upcoming Events:
-Book Fair: Scholastic Book Fair will be held October 12-20 in the library. Students will shop during their scheduled library time. They can bring cash for purchases or you can sign up for an ewallet account on the Scholastic website. The book fair will be open during parent teacher conferences, so you can shop then too.
-Fall Fest: October 27th from 5pm-8pm. A sign up genius will be sent out soon to help with all of the fun events on this night. We will need lots of volunteers to make it all happen. We have some great plans for games, food trucks($), treats, a balloon artist, craft, and more. Come enjoy a fun night out with your family! Feel free to come and go as you please during the scheduled time!

It is easy to set up and you do not have to do anything different when ordering. A link is below to help set it up if need be. Please choose Cooks Corners PTO when setting up. Here is a video with directions to help you get started! https://youtu.be/VyJ7HcreC7A

Wear your Halloween costume on Halloween!
Here are a few guidelines we ask that you follow to ensure we have a fun & safe day!
If students are going to wear a costume, they must wear it to school.
No masks or full face painting will be allowed. However students can have “limited” makeup like whiskers, freckles, eye make up, etc.
Costumes must not be too scary or inappropriate for the school environment. Please no gory or grotesque costumes.
No props are allowed. (no swords, weapons, wands, etc)
Students must wear shoes that are appropriate for school. No heels, no slippers, etc.
Students who come to school wearing something inappropriate, will have to call home for new clothing.
Costumes should not interfere with the ability of a student to go to the bathroom by themselves.
We will still be going outside for recess, so jackets need to fit over costumes.

40-50 degrees: jackets, long pants
30-40 degrees: winter jacket, long pants
30 degrees & below: winter jacket, long pants, hat & gloves, boots*
*Snow play: snow pants and boots are required if a student wants to walk and/or play in the snow. Without boots or snow pants, students will be allowed to go outside, but will only be allowed on the blacktop during recess.
Each grade goes outside for recess every day, unless the temperature or wind-chill is below zero. Please remember to make sure that your child remembers to dress according to these guidelines. Not having the proper attire could result in a loss of recess.
If your child is one that runs hot, please communicate that to your child's teacher so they are aware and we will make adjustments.
If you are in need of clothing or shoes for your child, please contact our social worker, Miss Foreman, and she would be happy to help accommodate your needs.
