7-12 Students to Return 4 Days/Week April 5, 2021
7-12 IN PERSON STUDENTS RETURN 4 DAYS/WEEK BEGINNING APRIL 5, 2021
At a Special School Board Meeting held on February 22, 20201, Superintendent Gerlach and Assistant Superintendent Hirsbrunner presented the rationale and plan to return 7-12 students to school four (4) days/week beginning April 5, 2021, which is the first day of the 4th Quarter.
This decision was made based on continued concerns that students are struggling in the cohort model academically, socially, and emotionally. Safety and flexibility with our models including the use of masks, physical distancing to the greatest extent possible, hand washing, cleaning, ventilation of outside air, and contact tracing will continue to be prioritized.
Students in Cohorts A and B will attend Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with Wednesdays continuing to be an E-Learning Day for all students PK-12.
Students enrolled in the Online Learning Center (OLC) will remain in that model through the end of the year.
At this time, there is no change to the PK-6 Elementary student schedule.
The District continues to work toward ending the school year with all students attending five (5) days per week.
- IF YOUR STUDENT IS STRUGGLING
Learning in these models can be difficult for students. If your student is struggling or needs additional support, please do not hesitate to reach out to their teacher, principal, or any member of our administrative team.
FACE COVERING REQUIREMENT
Mask Requirements for students and staff will remain in place through the end of the 2020-21 school year. The District mask requirements are separate from those issued by the Governor of Wisconsin and will remain in place regardless of future state action.GRAB-AND-GO MEALS
Grab-and-Go Meals will continue to be made available through the end of the school year. With the increase of students in schools on a daily basis, meal pickup will be available on Wednesdays only. Families will be able to pick up frozen meals for the week on these days. Information on meal service is available here. A huge thank you to our Food Service and Transportation teams for continuing to make these meals a reality for our community.SPRING BREAK TRAVEL
Given that COVID-19 has been community spread in our area for quite some time, the District will not be requiring students or staff who choose to travel domestically to remain out of the building, unless they are unable to social distance.
Students and staff planning to travel abroad will be asked to follow current CDC guidelines regarding international travel. We continue to ask those who are traveling to follow safety protocols and social distance recommendations to help us maintain safe environments for our students and staff.2021-22 CALENDAR
The School Board has approved the 2021-22 Calendar with the assumption that students will return 5 days/week.
