Please save the date for an exciting event to explore new opportunities for our elementary libraries on the evening of Thursday, October 20 at the high school. We will learn about the latest trends in 21st Century libraries and the impact they will have on our libraries in the coming year. We are fortunate to have internationally recognized library visionary Keith Webster, Dean of Libraries at Carnegie Mellon University, and an expert in building libraries of the future as our keynote speaker. Maker activities and childcare will be available for children during the event. We hope you can join us for this special evening to learn more. More information to come. If you have questions, please contact Sloane Astorino at 412-325-8201.

JES Walk to School Week

Remember that if you are planning on volunteering for class parties, field trips or other events at JES you will need your clearances. For information regarding the school district's policies for volunteering click here. You may also see the PTA section below for volunteering opportunities and specific clearance requirements.

Curriculum Night

Last spring, a district-wide survey was conducted to gather input from our elementary families about how our existing school-family events (Curriculum Night, Fall/Spring Conferences, and Open House) were meeting the needs of families. Based upon the data collected, the new Elementary Meet & Greet event was created in place of the existing Curriculum Night.

While we will not be hosting a formal Curriculum Night for parents/guardians this year, an overview of our elementary curriculum is available for families to review on our District website via the link below. Additionally, this webpage includes links to a more detailed summary of the academic programming for each grade level.

Your child's teacher is your best resource should you have specific questions regarding his/her experience at JES this school year.
