Let's raise the on-going level of service in the greater Sacramento region so that the 2.3 million people who live in our 6 county region can see and come to know the love of Christ because God’s people are willing to partner and serve to see real change in our communities!

Stories of Service: Serving the Oak Park Community
Season of Service kicked off last Saturday in Oak Park with an outreach event hosted by Zion Temple Church and done in partnership with Hands on Superior California and the Sacramento Coalition for Working Families. Volunteers of many different ages and ethnicities met for a community breakfast at the church which included watching and discussing a film about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The teams then took to the streets of Oak Park to notify families of free tax services available in the area.
It was a great morning of making new friends, getting some exercise, and meeting and sharing with people in the Oak Park community. We look forward to seeing families keep more of the money they earn and find relief from financial stress that can weigh on families well-being. Groups of volunteers also distributed information in the Del Paso Heights neighborhoods on Monday. Thank you to everyone who came out to serve!

Upcoming Service Opportunity: Homeless Street Count
HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED for the Sacramento Homeless Street Count! The Homeless Street Count helps our community better understand and serve our homeless population. Information collected from the night of the count is used to learn about the size of the homeless population, refine existing programs to better engage and serve this population, develop new programs where gaps exist, and make policy decisions on homeless issues in Sacramento. The Event also provides funding for vital services, including federal funding for emergency shelter operations and transitional and permanent supportive housing projects.
The Homeless Street Count is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28 from 7pm to midnight and volunteers are needed throughout the month of January as well as on the night of the event.

Upcoming Event: Undivided movie Premier
On Thursday February 5th, cities all across the US will be premiering a timely documentary called Undivided, a story about a church/school partnership. Sacramento's viewing of the film will be at Guild Theater.
Undivided documents the true story of how a suburban church unites with at-risk Roosevelt High School—once Portland, Oregon’s most outstanding but now failing and slated for closure—to create a beautiful transformation for students, the school and the volunteers serving it.
If you are a school administrator, teacher, non-profit leader, business person, outreach leader, pastor of a church, or simply believe that every school matters, we would love to see you there! Get tickets here!
