Art Fun Night
Please join us on Wednesday, March 30 from 6:30-8:00 pm for a
fun night of art projects for students and families, K-5! Our art teacher, Mrs. Switzer, will be at school that evening and has organized projects using different art mediums. We hope to see you there!
Join the Kids of Steel Team
The JES Kids of Steel program officially kicked off this past week, but you can still join the fun. Register by March 31, and get ready to run and have fun. JES track sessions during the lunch hour will be offered again this year as well as Track Sundays from 1-2 p.m. at the High School with the other Mt. Lebanon Schools.
Back by popular demand, will be the student-teacher race offering 1/2 mile and 1 mile distances. Each registration in the kids of steel program gives us an opportunity to win the $1,000 physical education grant. Sign up today at http://thepittsburghmarathon.com. We are always in need of photos for the JES Yearbook. If you have photos of school events or extracurricular activities that you would like to see in the yearbook, please send the images jesptayearbook@gmail.com. MLEA Summer Grant Applications
MLEA is now accepting summer grant applications. For nearly 35 years, Mt. Lebanon School District teachers have awarded study grants for returning Mt. Lebanon students (current kindergarteners through 11th graders) who plan to participate in summer enrichment programs. These scholarships are sponsored by the members of the Mt. Lebanon School District Teachers' Union.
Examples of acceptable programs: (NOT found in our regular curriculum)
Leadership conferences, Art programs, Music programs, Drama programs, Dance studies, Forensic/debate programs, Science or computer science camps, Culture and language camps.
Programs that will not be funded: Athletic camps, Religious camps, Travel-abroad programs, Private tutoring/lessons
For an application to be considered, you must submit both of the following:
- Online application *Do NOT use the "copy" and "paste" function when completing your online application.*
- Two brief teacher/coach/mentor recommendations
NOTE: Applying does not ensure an award. Submit an application online at www.mlea.org. The application deadline is Monday, 4/25.
