Highlights from this past week

This past week at Holy Redeemer, we have had lots of fun throughout the school. On Monday, we all got to stay home and cozy in our Pajamas and sleep off the yummy thanksgiving meals from the weekend.


On Tuesday, Recreation and leadership students in grades 5-8 got to go to the corn mazes while a few parent volunteers came in to help our kindergarten students bake apple pies.


Nature Kindergarten students went to the Strathcona Wilderness Center on Wednesday.


On Thursday, Students in grade 7&8 we to visit with Seniors through Linking Generations while our kindergarten students dressed up for rainbow day. We practiced our first lock-down drill as a school. Ask your child(ren) to tell you about this procedure.


This week, our grade 4 students have been learning all about plant life. They were able to explore various plant life, through windowsill planting, examination our living plant wall and in our court-yard.

'My Name is Lynne Chisholm. I love working with our students at Holy Redeemer in the capacity of an Educational Assistant. I have 2 grown children and am a grandmother. Some of my hobbies include running ultra Marathons and participating in dog shows.'

'My Name is Gloria MacMillan. I have been the custodian at Holy Redeemer now for 7 years. I continue to enjoy watching our students grow and change over the years and value the relationships I have built with many of our students and families along the way. My husband and I live local to our area and love being part of our community.'

Important Reminders:

  • WATER BOTTLES: Please ensure that your student brings a water-bottle each day to school.


  • MASKS: Masks are required inside EICS Facilities by all students, staff and authorized visitors.


  • ILLNESS AND ABSENCES: A reminder for all families that the AHS Daily Assessment needs to be completed and actioned each morning prior to coming to school. If your child is experiencing symptoms please choose:


    1. “Flu-like symptoms”

    2. “other illness or injury” If they are experiencing symptoms that you do not deem to be flu-like, or your child has a medical appointment.

    3. “parent excused.” If your child is experiencing no symptoms at all, please choose this. The parent excused absence should only be chosen if you are keeping your child home for a reason that does not pertain to a medical issue. (i.e dance competition)


  • BUILDING ADMITTANCE: Please call the office or ring the bell upon your arrival and a staff member will greet you at the door. All doors will remain locked at this time.


  • CONSENT FORMS & SCHOOL FEES: Please note, these items are due. Please log in through your parent portal to pay them. - If you have any questions, please call Tess Guerin in the office at 780-922-4522.

Librarian's Corner

OWL library is starting to look very spooky these days. The students really think it’s a HOOT to see everything decorated and PECK out a Halloween book. The countdown is on to the Haunted Library and Mrs. Scoggins is getting very excited for the big day!!

Nutrition Program Grant

Our Nutrition Grant Program is fully under-way. Ask your child about their nutritious and delicious morning snacks, kindly provided through this Alberta Grant through the hard work of Aimee Fontaine and parent volunteers.

Sacrament Information 2021/2022

If you wish to register your student for one of their sacraments, Please reach out to Natalie Lavigne at OLPH Parish office (780-467-5470).

Parents can submit them to the OLPH Parish Office in person (7:30am-7:30pm, 7 days a week) OR by email sacraments@olph.ca.
