IGNITING THE FUTURE! 11/11/2016
CELEBRATING VETERANS DAY!!!
Canned Food Drive...
Our yearly Civic League sponsored canned food drive is November 14th-18th. We have many incentives for the students to bring in canned foods. Each day they bring in at least one can of food, they can participate in the theme for the day! The homework pass can be cashed in on whatever day they so choose. Our 4th and 5th grade Student Council students will be collecting and counting cans for each class every morning.
Monday: Hat Day
Tuesday: Bring a stuffed animal to school
Wednesday: WACKY Wednesday (hair, socks, clothes, etc.)
Thursday: Pajama/Slipper Day
Friday: FREE homework pass!!!
**The class that collects the most cans gets to slime Mr. Murphy at our December Team Time in front of the entire school!!**
Reminders...
Please be advised our last school day will be Friday, December 16. School will resume on Tuesday, January 3.
Lost and Found:
Our lost and found is rather full! If your student is missing an item, please have them check our lost and found. With the colder temperatures approaching, we want to be sure our students have their jackets.
PTC's First Annual 'My Guy and I' Event...
Last year, the PTC hosted a very successful father/daughter dance and many students and parents suggested hosting something similar for the boys and their moms (or any significant woman in the boy’s life). So, we are excited to announce just that! Mark your calendar!
Friday, November 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
There will be a DJ leading lots of fun games and songs, pizza, drinks, prizes and more! The attire will be casual, so feel free to dress comfortably. You won’t want to miss this exciting evening to spend time with your boy(s) and cut loose! The cost for this event is $10/family (pre-register) or $15/family at the door.
Job Fair...
Vistor vs. Volunteer...
Just a few reminders for our Thompson Crossing families regarding volunteers and visitors
VOLUNTEER...
A volunteer is required to have a current background check on file. Background checks are good for 2 years once completed. A volunteer is anyone working with students for extended periods of time. In addition, a volunteer is any person who will be supervising students or will be alone with students. This includes, but is not limited to, field trips or taking a group of students out of a classroom for remediation work.
Note: VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECKS ARE NO LONGER FREE OF CHARGE. THE FEE IS APPROXIMATELY $16.00 PER VOLUNTEER. If you wish to proceed, please follow the instructions listed here after clicking the link below.

A visitor is anyone coming in to our building for any reason. A visitor is someone coming to have lunch, attend a class party, meet with a teacher, basically anyone in our building for any reason needs to check in as a visitor. Visitors DO NOT need a cleared background check on file, as they will not be in charge of students nor will they be working one on one with students. Visitors need to have a valid state I.D. as we will scan those to make a badge showing that you've registered. If you know you are going to join your student for lunch, or attend an event such as a class party, you may pre-register. Pre-registering is a simple process and it lets your school know you plan to be on their property.
The link to pre-register is listed below:
