Tents In Place for Lunches

The District has provided us with five tents that have been set-up to allow our students to continue to spread out and eat lunch outside in wet conditions. We have a tent in each interior courtyard and three very large tents in the north portable courtyard. We hope our students will continue to use these spaces throughout the year.

Closed Campus

Please help us by reminding your student that we are closed campus. This means students are not allowed to leave campus and return without a parent or doctors appointment. This is most important during our lunches. We can not have students leave campus for lunch or go their cars.

AP Test Sign - Ups

Attention AP Students - The deadline for registering for AP exams this year is Friday, October 1st. You must use the code given by your teacher to join your class at myap.collegeboard.org and then select to take the exam. Just joining does not register you for the exam. After October 1st, fees will be applied to student accounts for payment. If you are not in an AP course but wish to take an exam, please see Mrs. Ferris before October 1st. Thank you!

Student Drop Off and Pick Up

Traffic flow before and after school can be chaotic. We would like to minimize the chaos as much as possible by establishing clear routes for drop-off and pick-up locations. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. The true secret to arriving to school on-time and with less traffic is arriving early. The traffic route on the North-side is for drop-offs, and the other traffic route is on the South-side for student drivers. On the South-side, remember that students are parking and then walking to the building. For safety, we do not want any drop-offs happening here. Please do not drop off students on the South side. All Drop-offs should only happen on the North Side.

We are experiencing a higher than customary volume of parents and guardians picking up their students after school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to get students to your cars as quickly and as safely as possible. Similarly, once students have found your cars we are working to help cars exit our parking lot as safely and quickly as possible. We have received permission from Rock Creek Church (which shares an entrance and exit with WHS) to have students be picked up in the church parking lot as well. One way to avoid the backup in our parking lot is to pick up your student closer to 3pm. Students are welcome to access the WHS Library after school as it is open until 3:30pm. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safe and efficient pick up of students.

Finally, please do not drop off or pick up your student on 185th Avenue. This has proven to be unsafe and we want our students to arrive and depart as safely as possible. Thank you.
