11th Grade Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) Class Work to "Spike Away Hunger!"

IB students make a difference in their world! Students are hard at work on implementing PPS Skills to build an original service learning project that they will complete this year. They've conducted research, developed a plan and pitched their ideas to the class. They voted on holding a student/teacher volleyball tournament to raise money for The Colonial Neighborhood Council to provide support to families in need in our community. They are hard at work and will have more information soon! Stay tuned! Service Learning aims to develop the learner profile traits of caring, reflective, open-minded, risk-taker and balanced.

Windows into the Workplace

Students learned from Mr. Tony Capponi, a project manager at Comcast, as he shared his strategies for developing and executing a successful project in his career. Window into the Workplace (WiW) videos and experiences provide students with current, real world insights into skills and situations that occur across various professions. If you are interested in providing a WiW or know someone who might, click HERE to learn more about how you can help! WiW develop the Learner Profile traits of thinker, knowledgeable, inquirers and principled.

  • To earn a certificate students must pass their IB exams, Reflective Project and complete their Career-related Study pathway, Service, Personal and Professional Skills and Language Development Portfolios.

Alumni Corner: Quotable Quotes from our Alumni

  • “I truly don't think I could have ended up where I am without the IB program. Within the first two weeks of college, I've actively seen the payoffs from the IBCP….Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am so eternally grateful for the IB program at PW. You somehow cultivated an environment in which we felt comfortable with each other as students, grew together over the course of two years, and improved both as learners and individuals.” - Nate Schindler (Georgetown University)

  • “Looking back on IB math class at PW, I can’t explain how much it helped me. I feel like I am completely breezing by...I’ve gotten nothing but compliments from my English professor and he has asked me multiple times where I went to high school because he can’t believe that I have done all of this before…. I can’t explain how much of a community the IB program at PW is. I am so grateful that I was a part of it and can’t wait to see what the future holds.” - Jordan Mangan (Jefferson University)

We are so proud of you, IBCP Class of 2022 & We miss you!
