What is a volcano?
A volcano is a hole in the earth where melted rock, hot gases, and ash come out. All volcanoes do not look or act the same.

All over the world there are volcanoes above and below the earth's surface. The Ring of Fire is a string of volcanoes and earth quakes through the oceans of the world. 452 volcanoes stretches from the southern tip of South America, up along the coast of North America, across the Bering Strait, down through Japan, and into New Zealand.
