Big picture

THIS WEEK

Thanksgiving break starts Wednesday, November 23 - Friday, November 25, 2022. No school these days. School resumes Monday, November 28,2022.

K-6 Student of the Week

Mrs. Havens has chosen Oliver Holmberg as the Newberry Elementary Student of the Week. He is in Mrs. Havens and Ms. McNamara’s second-grade class. He has been selected because he consistently puts forth his best effort in everything that he does. He is always kind to his peers and is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever one may be needed. Oliver is the son of Alan Holmberg and Felisha Smith. In his free time, he enjoys riding his bike and playing bingo with his grandma. In school, his favorite subject is reading. I’m proud of you Oliver; keep up the great work!

Grades 7-12 Tutoring/Homework space

Afterschool tutoring/homework space will be Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 21 and Nov. 22). After Thanksgiving it will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays until Dec. 21. Stop in to get homework done and help passing classes.

Club 7-12 Opportunity

The Alternative Media Club meets Friday afternoons to watch anime and share other non-mainstream art, communication, and tastes. Ask Ms. Schwarz for more information.

7-12 Student of the Week

This week's 7-12 Student of the Week is Liam Rao. Liam is the son of Raghu Rao

and Patricia Gill. Liam is a junior who has served on Student Council, is first chair

trombone in the band, and is a member of the basketball and track teams. Liam is

an incredibly hard-worker and he always faces challenges with a positive

demeanor and a great sense of humor. He's set high goals for himself and the work

he puts in to reach them is admirable. Liam takes some of the most challenging

courses offered and strives to be successful in all of them. He is also very kind to

his peers and is always willing to help anyone with whatever they might need.

Keep up the good work Liam!

K- 6 NOVEMBER WACKY WEDNESDAYS

Every Wednesday will be a different wacky day. If your child would like to participate, they will need to pay $1 to their teacher. The funds raised will go directly to your child’s class for field trips or positive incentives.
