Scientific name: Ailurus fulgens, Kingdom: Animalia, Phylum: Chordata, Class: Mammalia, Order: Carnivora, Family: Ailuridae, Genus: Ailurus, Species: fulgens
The red pandas habitat is in temperate forests in the Eastern Himalaya mountains. They usually are found in trees.
Red pandas are herbivores and they tend to eat bamboo, fruit, acorns, roots, and bird eggs.
The cutting down of bamboo is one of the threats to red pandas. Because bamboo is being cut down red pandas have trouble finding food. The second threat is being hunted down for their pelts.
People are growing bamboo to help the red pandas. People have also made it illegal to hunt red pandas since they are endangered. You can help by recycling paper or donating to funds.
