Who's Who at Ross Elementary?
Ross School Nurse- Monica Veenstra
Hello Ross Family! I am the school nurse here at Ross Elementary and I absolutely love being here! I grew up in a small town near Joplin Missouri where most of my family still lives today. I went to college in northern Missouri on a volleyball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1999. I met and fell in love with my college sweetheart and we were married in 2000. I worked in pediatrics, neonatal, and labor and delivery as a RN in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Texas in 2001. I worked at UTMB in the NICU before I started subbing as a RN for CCISD in 2009. I fell in love with school nursing and Ross Elementary and have been here ever since. I have two amazing children; Kennedy who is 4 and Lincoln who is 8 months. I love being a mom and cherish every second that I get with them. In my spare time I like to do crafts, plan parties, shop, run, spend time with my friends (my Texas family), and go camping. Being a part of the students’ lives here at Ross is very important to me. I take my role seriously and attempt to make a positive impact each and every single day. I feel that it is truly my calling to be a school RN and am proud to be a Ross Roadrunner. Thank you for sharing your children with me and trusting me with their well-being.
