Week of May 16, 2016

I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to enjoy the beautiful weather. It looks like it's going to be a gorgeous week! I know how busy everyone is this time of the year. However, I would like to take one quick second to let everyone know how much I appreciate our collective dedication and care for our students and their learning; there truly is nothing more important. It's why we do what we do. While it can be easy to get caught up in the business and the minutiae of the end of the year hustle, our mission and vision remain the same - to do whatever it takes to best meet the needs of our students and families so that ALL can reach their full potential. It's how we operate here in PLSAS. And it's our responsibility to bring our best each day and to teach our students with urgency. What an honor it is to be an educator and to be able to touch and transform so many lives. Have a great week!

Digital Curriculum Resources Survey

Hello everyone,

I am working to get a better handle on the use of digital curriculum resources in the district. As many of you know, my position is new this year and I am working to help determine how best to support teachers in the use of the digital resources that the district subscribes to. I am also interested learning about other tools that teachers use or are interested in using. If you could fill out this survey: http://bit.ly/plsasdce, which should take about 10 minutes, I would really appreciate it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

In closing...

As you can see above, Ms. Trina is in the process of helping Edgewood upkeep and beautify our gardens, flowers, and nature play area. She is in the process of finding donations, as well as seeking volunteers (and families) to set up a few times over the summer to gather. Please check with Trina if you are interested in learning more.

Edgewood will be a rocking place this summer - ESY (extended school year) for ECSE students, 3 sections of LODL summer school, 2 classes of Kids' Company, 2 sections of PreK, ECFE summer programming.....

But our job is to finish this school year off strong first! Our kids are counting on us!

Have a great week.
