TJH Update - Return to School
September 4, 2020
A Message from Dr. Mitzner
We are excited to have students coming to campus on Tuesday!
We also understand that we are facing unprecedented circumstances. Please be assured that your child’s safety is our utmost priority. The video above highlights a few of the safety measures at Tays Junior High! Teachers will be sharing these as well as other processes with our students when they get to their first period class on Tuesday. Below you will also find all the information your student will need for their first day on campus.
Arrival to campus
Doors of the school open at 8:30. Our 1st period warning bell rings at 8:48.
When coming to campus-
Car riders: Drop off at the front drive (please pull up as far as you can when in front of the school) Students cannot be dropped off in our visitor parking area.
Bikers: Bike racks are located on either end of the building (students should use sidewalks and crosswalks to get on campus)
Walkers: Use sidewalks and crosswalks to get to campus
Bus riders: Will be dropped off behind campus and enter through the back of the rotunda
Students will report directly to their 1st period class. We will have signs posted for students to check their 1st period teacher’s classroom when they enter. You may also want to review this with your student by looking up their schedule in HAC.
In first period students will receive a new copy of their schedule as well as their IDs. New students will take their ID photos during our Home Base period.
- We will release walkers and bikers with the 4:05 bell.
- We will release car riders to the front of the building and bus riders to the back of the building.
As always, know that I am happy to answer your questions. I would rather get you connected with the correct information rather than misinformation.
Remember - Everything is HARD until it is easy!! This back to school season is no different!
