Rome: The Greatest of All!
By Emily Tran
What is the Backstory of Rome?
Rome was founded by these twin brothers named Romulus and Remus. When they were just a baby, their mother thrown them into the Tiber River in a basket. Although, they did not die. Instead, they were founded by a she-wolf. Then the she-wolf carefully brought them back to her cave where she raised them by giving them her milk. Later on, a herdsman stumbled upon them and brought them back to his house and his wife. They raised the two boys until they were old enough to take care of themselves. Romulus and Remus went off by themselves after they were grown up. Then they founded place and wanted to build a city there. They were both fighting about the location, what it would be named, and who would rule it. So, Romulus went ahead and killed his own brother Remus to make his own city himself. He named Rome after himself. That is how Rome was created.

Rome Geography
Rome is a peninsula so it is surrounded by 3 bodies of water. The 3 bodies of water are the Tyrrhenian Sea, Adriatic Sea, and the Ionian Sea. It has a very famous river named the Tiber River, which is also very useful. They have very fertile land for growing crops. Some crops that are grown there are wheat, barley, beans, fruits, vegetables, grapes, and olives. They also had perfect climate for growing crops. It was a Mediterranean climate so the lowest temperature was around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The last great thing is the mountains and hills. This helps protect Rome from invaders. The invaders can't come in and you can see the invaders from far away. There's nothing better than this!
