Data Digs

Of all of the Title I funded activities at Belle River, I am most excited about Data Digs and look forward to learning about the process you have developed. Our first Data Dig is scheduled for Thursday, and you will meet in grade-level teams with Robyn and myself to analyze your current snapshots of data and brainstorm some strategies and interventions to improve how you individualize, differentiate, and develop skills in general for students. We will focus on reading and math at this time. P lease bring your Fountas and Pinnell reading level data, SRI data, and math assessment data. Also, I may have available by Thursday individual student M-STEP Data for the fourth and fifth grade teams. I look forward to collaborating with you as we analyze and brainstorm ideas to improve teaching and learning!

St. Clair Community Foundation Grant

We just received a grant from the Cottrellville Community Fund through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County for $12,937 to support Belle River’s Friday Food for Kids program! Thank you Bill, Jeanne, and your team for organizing this program and helping take care of the basic needs of our students whose families are struggling economically.

CSI (Cyber Safety Initiative) Presentations

On Tuesday, a representative from the Attorney General's office will conduct CSI presentations in the Media Center. The schedule for those presentations are as follows:

9:15 - 9:45 ~ Kindergarten and First Grade

10:00 - 10:45 ~ Fourth and Fifth Grades

10:50 - 11:35 ~ Second and Third Grades

There will be teacher feedback forms for you to complete after the presentations, and online safety contracts will be placed in your mailboxes to send home with students that afternoon.

Wishing many blessings to Carson, who was baptized on Sunday!

Super Brain Yoga

Kathy's student teacher, Courtney Smith, shared this video about Super Brain Yoga. The concept is fascinating, and it might be another type of brain/movement break that will help your students better perform on academic tasks.
