News from Classes
Literacy:
We are doing our final revision for our Hero Narrative/Story (not report). It is important that the students focus on a day/moment in their hero’s life, not a whole story about their hero. Final drafts along with all other drafts will be turned in on Thursday. This is a process writing piece, so it is important for all drafts to be together for our final reflection. I’m attaching our “Cheat Sheets,” so you can see choices the students considered for their papers. I retaught those needing to review conjunctions, and retests are being given Tues./Wed. Thank you again for supporting our reading logs and checking for name/date when you sign them.
Science:
· Students need to make sure they are completing their homework…there will be science homework most nights the next couple of weeks
· Students need to study at home…they should be reviewing their notes on a daily basis…they also need to find out what study habits work best for them…is reading it over and over good enough or do they need to make flash cards, or rewrite their notes, draw the diagrams over and over…
· Earth Day T-shirts are due tomorrow…I’m attaching another order form…just in case
· There will be an ecosystem test next week…the day is to be determined
Each student should take his/her science journal home and bring it to class daily…There should be a table of contents (we add to it with each new entry) at the beginning to help you navigate the journal
Math:
Students are working on a unit on multipklying and dividing fractions
Social Studies:
Students are presenting PBL projects this week on the Revolution. Most of the kids have worked very hard and the results are amazing! We now will be moving into a unit on Western Expnansion. I want to thank everyone for their support the last few weeks!
