Reading Calendars
Reading calendars will be due at the beginning of each month. Each month your child will be required to read a set amount of minutes. November Reading calendars will be due on or before December 1st.
Math
The students just finished the unit on understanding multiplication, which entailed creating and interpreting pictures of equal groups, bar models, skip counting on number lines and arrays. It was exciting for them to finally be working on "times"! We will continue with multiplication and work more with varying strategies and practicing facts.

Social Studies
Our salmon eggs are here! We will be observing our eggs as we learn about life cycles.
On Tuesday, November 21 will be having a special presentation. Jeff Dykehouse from the Mackinac State Historic Parks will teach us all about Michigan's Natural History by spinning a web of life for students with taxidermy mounts, stories and activities. We will learn about the Great Lakes Watershed and why the Great Lakes are so great. Thanks to the PTO for sponsoring this event.
Holiday Fun
In December we will be making a holiday gift for you. We would appreciate it if everyone could bring in $3.00 to help pay for the cost of it. Please have this money in by December 1st. If this is a hardship at this time please let us know so that we can make special accommodations.
PLEASE DRESS YOUR CHILD FOR THE WEATHER
With the weather quickly changing, it is important that the students dress appropriately each day. We go out for recess daily. Please be sure that your child is dressed warmly for the day. Please label your child’s snow pants, coats, etc. with their first and last name. Thank You!
