FYI
Lois is the founder of the CHOICES program in State College Pennsylvania and she is one of the first clinicians to bring the Internal Family Systems Model of Psychotherapy to the Central PA area. She completed her IFS Level 1 in 2009 and 2010 which is the year she trained numerous clinicians as well as parents in IFS as a foundational model used at CHOICES and with traumatized families. She became a certified IFS therapist in 2010 upon completion of additional consultation hours. She then went on to study Somatic (body oriented) IFS for a few years before returning to Level 2 IFS training in 2012 and then Level 3 training in 2014. Between her formal training she formed a collaborative initiative with Bruce Hersey, LCSW, an IFS Clinician in Altoona PA, called Wise Heart Leadership Initiative. This collaboration resulted in numerous trainings and retreats offered in PA, WV and other close states on IFS, IFS and EMDR, and the IFS model use among individuals across all developmental stages and ages. Having facilitated or co-facilitated numerous trainings including the first Level 1 IFS training in Altoona, Lois is known as a sensitive, careful and caring trainer who spends as much time developing the collaborative and safe training climate and culture as the content she is presenting.
