First Annual Julie Riggi Walk-A-Thon
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The month of April provided several festive events for our student body at KRMS. We kicked off the month with our 4th annual People’s Choice Awards night. Thirty-five of Kingsway’s finest were honored due to their exemplary character. A week later, the Student Council organized the first ever Julie Riggi Walk-a-Thon. Over one hundred and fifty students stayed to participate in the walk in order to honor one of Kingsway’s most cherished student/employee, Julie Riggi. Over one thousand dollars were raised in Nurse Riggi’s honor. All the proceeds will go to graduating seniors who win the Julie Riggi Scholarship. Additionally, our Community Service club collected over 7,500 children’s books to donate to a local school in need. Hats off to Mrs. Foody and the entire Community Service Club for their efforts with this project! Finally, our 4th annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament was once again a hit with our students. Team Final, comprised of Randy Haywood, Fazil Oshodi, and DuJuan Wagner, took home the championship winning four straight rounds throughout the tournament! All sixty students who participated had a blast, and stellar sportsmanship was on display the entire afternoon. We look forward to productive, fun-filled May, and our students are certainly prepared to tackle the NJSLA state test midway through the month.
